Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026

1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of BuildScribe AI, a trading name operated by a sole trader based in England. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The service

BuildScribe AI provides AI-assisted proposal generation software for contractors and tradespeople operating in the UK. The service allows you to create, edit, and export professional proposals in PDF format. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time with reasonable notice.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating your account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account.

You must be at least 18 years old to use BuildScribe AI.

4. Free trial

New accounts receive a free trial allowing up to 3 proposals to be generated at no cost. No credit card is required to start a free trial. The free trial has no time limit but the 3-proposal cap is a lifetime limit per account. We reserve the right to modify free trial terms at any time.

5. Paid subscriptions

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance. All prices are in GBP and exclusive of VAT where applicable. Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis until you cancel.

Proposal allowances reset at the start of each calendar month. Unused allowances do not carry over to the following month.

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial months.

6. Acceptable use

You must not use BuildScribe AI to:

  • Create fraudulent, misleading, or deceptive proposals
  • Impersonate another business or individual
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service
  • Use the service in any way that violates applicable UK law
  • Resell or sublicense access to the service without our written consent

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without refund.

7. Your content

You retain ownership of all content you input into BuildScribe AI, including project details, pricing, and client information. By using the service you grant us a limited licence to process this content solely to provide the service to you. We do not use your content to train AI models or share it with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. AI-generated content

Proposal narratives are generated using AI and are provided as a starting point only. You are responsible for reviewing all AI-generated content before sending proposals to clients. BuildScribe AI makes no warranty that generated content is accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose. You should ensure all figures, dates, and descriptions are correct before use.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BuildScribe AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of contracts, loss of revenue, or loss of business opportunity.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with these terms shall not exceed the total amount paid by you to us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

10. Availability

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We are not liable for any loss resulting from downtime, outages, or service interruptions beyond our reasonable control.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will give at least 14 days notice of material changes by email or via a notice in the app. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
